Accessibility

Everyone should be able to make and manage QR codes here, with a keyboard, a screen reader or zoom.

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on every page we build.

What we do

  • We build pages from plain HTML headings, lists, labels and buttons, and show a visible outline around whatever has the keyboard focus.
  • We have checked the main pages with the axe and html-validate tools. Automated tests keep every generator field labeled and every text color at WCAG AA contrast.
  • Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.

Gaps we know about

  • We haven't had an independent audit or tested every page with a screen reader yet.
  • The daily scan chart on a code's page tells a screen reader the 30-day total, not each day's count. The countries and devices below it are plain lists.
  • Checkout runs on Polar, our payment provider, which we don't control.
  • A QR code is an image read by a camera. The generator's scan check tells you when a design doesn't read.

We do not use accessibility overlay widgets.

If something blocks you
