Terms of Service
Effective date: October 7, 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Orange Arc LLC, a California limited liability company ("Guaranteed QR", "we", "us"). They cover the website guaranteedqr.com, the free QR code generator, the dynamic QR codes we serve from gtdqr.com and from domains you connect, and everything else we offer there (together, the "Service").
You accept these terms when you click “Email me a sign-in link” or tick the box at checkout. Our Acceptable Use Policy and our Refund Policy are part of these terms; our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and refund its packs. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm that you are allowed to bind that business, and "you" means the business as well.
2. Your account
- We do not use passwords. You sign in with a one-time link that we email to you. The link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
- A sign-in lasts 30 days on each device you use. You can end every session at once with "Sign out everywhere" in Settings.
- Your account is tied to one email address, and anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account; tell us if you think someone else has used it.
- To change your email address or to delete your account, email support@guaranteedqr.com from the account's address.
3. The free generator
Static QR codes are made in your browser. What you type into the generator (links, Wi-Fi details, contact cards, text) is not sent to our servers. You may use static codes for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, with no account, no watermark and no limit on scans.
The "scan-tested" check runs the finished image through a QR reader in your browser. It is a helpful test, not a promise: always test a printed sample before a large print run.
4. Dynamic codes, packs and slots
Dynamic codes are paid. Here is exactly how they work.
Packs are paid once. A pack is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing lapses. The packs are Single (1 code), Starter (3 codes), Pro (25 codes and 1 domain of your own) and Business (250 codes and 5 domains). Prices are in US dollars on the pricing page. Buyers in the US, Canada and India pay any sales tax on top of the price; elsewhere the price includes any VAT or GST. Checkout shows the tax before you pay. Buying a pack gives you a license to use the Service under these terms, not ownership.
Credits are slots. A pack gives you a number of code slots and, for Pro and Business, domain slots. A slot lets you run one dynamic code (or one connected domain) at a time. Packs add up: two Starter packs give you 6 code slots.
Deleting a code frees its slot, and ends that printed code. Anyone who scans a deleted code sees a "not set up" page. If you may need a code again, pause it instead: a paused code shows a "paused" page and keeps its slot.
Each dynamic code has one destination, which you can change at any time without reprinting. A destination must be a public web address (http or https), an email address (mailto), a phone number (tel) or a text message (sms). It may be at most 2,048 characters long and may not contain a username or password. It may not point at localhost or a private network, at gtdqr.com, or at any other address we serve.
Every web destination is screened against Google Web Risk when you create a code or change its destination, then daily for a week and weekly after that. A listed destination is refused; if the check cannot run, your change waits instead of going live unscreened; if a destination becomes unsafe later, the code is blocked and we email you.
Blocked codes. A blocked code stops redirecting and shows a "blocked" page. It cannot be edited or deleted and keeps its slot, so the evidence stays and the slot cannot be reused for a fresh address. Contact support if a block is a mistake.
Limits. Each account may make at most 60 code creations or destination changes per hour and 150 per day, 20 domain additions or removals per day, and 10 checkout attempts per hour. We may change these limits.
Paths. Codes on our shared domain, gtdqr.com, get a random path. Codes on your own domain may use a custom path of up to 64 letters, numbers and dashes, except for a few reserved words.
Scan statistics record the time, the country, the device type and the operating system family of each scan, and nothing that identifies the person. Not counted: scans by bots and link previews, repeat scans from the same connection within 10 seconds, and scans served from our edge cache while our database is unavailable. Daily details are kept for 90 days; the all-time total stays with the code.
Codes that start a call, a text message or an email show a confirmation page first instead of acting on the scan alone. Confirmation and error pages carry our name, including on your own domain.
5. The Guarantee
Our name is a promise, so here are its complete terms. This section, together with the Refund Policy, is the whole of the guarantee. Our marketing pages summarize this section and never promise more; where they differ, this section controls.
What we promise
- Paid once, no renewal. A dynamic code you have paid for stays live for as long as we operate the Service, with no further payment, unless you delete it, it is blocked under the Acceptable Use Policy, it is paused because its pack was refunded, or your account is suspended.
- Your own domain, your control. A code on a domain you connect (for example qr.yourbrand.com) is printed with your address, not ours. You control where that address points. We never need to own it.
- An exit kit, every month and on demand. We give you a ready-to-host copy of your redirects (the "exit kit") as a download in your dashboard at any time, and by email about every 28 days while you have at least one code and have not turned the emails off. The kit contains everything needed to serve your own-domain codes without us, and the software that builds it is open source.
What we do not promise
- Codes on our shared domain, gtdqr.com, cannot move to another host, because the domain is ours, and after a closing they can no longer be changed (see below). If a code has to keep changing, or last longer than that, connect your own domain before you print.
- A code on your own domain works only while you keep that domain registered and its DNS record pointing where it should. We cannot renew your domain for you.
- We do not promise uninterrupted service. We design for outages (our host's data centers keep a code's last answer for a week), but DNS, the internet and our providers are not under our control.
- The guarantee does not cover codes blocked, or accounts suspended, for breaking the Acceptable Use Policy.
Your remedy
If we fail to keep one of the three promises above for a pack you bought, you may ask us for a refund of the price you paid for that pack, at any time, and the exit kit is yours to keep and use. The same remedy applies if, after a closing, a code on gtdqr.com stops forwarding before the period promised below has passed. To claim it, email support@guaranteedqr.com from your account's address and tell us what happened. These are your only remedies under the guarantee.
If we close down, we will give you at least 90 days notice by email, keep the exit kit download working during that period, and send a final exit kit to every account that has codes. After the closing date, codes on our shared domain, gtdqr.com, keep forwarding to the destination each had on that date for at least 5 years. During that time they can no longer be changed, paused or deleted, scan statistics stop, and codes that were blocked or paused before the closing date stay that way. We may still disable a code where the law requires it.
6. Custom domains
- You connect a subdomain (qr.yourbrand.com), never a bare domain, and you must control its DNS.
- You add one CNAME record pointing at the target shown in your dashboard. Each account has its own target, and a domain goes live only while public DNS shows its record pointing at your account's target. A record left behind by a former owner cannot hand a domain to someone else.
- We request and renew the security certificate for your domain through our hosting provider, Cloudflare.
- A domain that waits 30 days without its DNS record is removed from your account and its slot is freed; we email you when we remove it.
- If a live domain's record is deleted or moved, scans fail until you fix it. We check live domains daily, email you once when a break is confirmed, and switch the domain back on once the record is right.
- You may remove a domain once no codes use it. Do not connect a hostname you do not control.
7. The exit kit
The exit kit contains your list of codes (as CSV and JSON), the destination of each, and for each of your own domains a small static website, a ready-to-deploy Cloudflare Worker and step-by-step instructions. You may use, copy and modify your kit without limit. Codes on the shared domain are listed in the kit but cannot be moved, because the domain is ours.
8. Payments, taxes and refunds
Purchases are processed by Polar Software, Inc. ("Polar"), which acts as the merchant of record. This means your purchase is made from Polar as our reseller: Polar charges your payment method, collects and remits any sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt. We never see your card details. Polar's own terms and privacy notice apply to the payment itself.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. In short: you may ask for a full refund of a pack within 14 days of purchase; a refunded pack's slots are removed and, if you then have more codes than slots, the newest codes are paused. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; a refund is faster for both of us. A successful chargeback is treated as a refund of that pack. We may suspend an account that uses chargebacks to defraud us.
9. Acceptable use
The Acceptable Use Policy is part of these terms. In short: do not point codes at phishing, malware, scams, illegal content, deceptive pages or spam, and do not use the Service to harm the people who scan your codes. We may refuse a destination, block a code, remove a domain or suspend an account. A suspended account cannot change anything and its codes stop redirecting. Purchases used for abuse are not refunded, unless the law requires a refund.
10. Your content
You keep ownership of what you give us: destinations, titles, custom paths, QR designs and logos. You give us a license to store, display, copy and serve them as needed to run the Service, including in your exit kit and exit kit emails. You confirm that you have the right to use any logo or trademark you put into a code, and that your destinations comply with the law and with the Acceptable Use Policy.
11. Our content and trademarks
The Service, its design and its code belong to us or our licensors. Do not copy the Service or use our name or logo without permission, except to say truthfully that you use it. The exit kit generator is published under the MIT License at https://github.com/guaranteedqr/exit-kit.
"Guaranteed QR" is our name and mark. QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
12. Copyright and trademark complaints
If you believe content stored or linked through the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice under 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3) to our designated agent: Copyright Agent, Orange Arc LLC, 2108 N St, Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816; phone (747) 217-1760; email abuse@guaranteedqr.com. Include the work you say is infringed; the address on our Service where the material appears; your name, postal address, phone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature.
We act on valid notices by removing or disabling the material and telling the customer. If the customer sends a counter-notice that meets 17 U.S.C. 512(g)(3), we forward it, with the customer's contact details, to the person who complained, and restore the material after 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a lawsuit. In appropriate circumstances we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. Send trademark complaints and other complaints to the same address.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time; download your exit kit first. We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if the law requires it, or if your account puts the Service or other customers at risk. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell you why and how to reach us. Sections 5, 10, 11 and 14 to 19 survive termination.
14. Disclaimers
Except for the express promises in Section 5, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no other warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not control the pages your codes point to, your DNS provider, or the third parties we rely on. Some states do not allow certain exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, or for the cost of reprinting, arising out of the Service. Our total liability to you for all claims, in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the greater of $100 or the total you paid for the packs the claims relate to. Payments to Polar for our packs count as paid to us. These limits do not apply to the refund in Section 5, to our fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence, or to liability the law does not let us limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
16. Indemnity
If you use the Service for a business, you will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims, and the reasonable costs of handling them, that arise out of your destinations, your content, or your breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, write to support@guaranteedqr.com; most problems can be solved in a few emails. Claims that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court. If you are a consumer and the law where you live lets you sue there, or gives you protections that a contract cannot remove, these terms do not change that.
18. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and for material changes we will email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Changes apply only from their effective date. They never govern a dispute that arose earlier and never reduce Section 5 or the Refund Policy for packs already bought. If you keep using the Service after that date, the new terms apply to you from then on; if you do not accept them, stop using the Service and download your exit kit first. We keep every earlier version and send a copy on request.
19. Other terms
These terms, with the Acceptable Use Policy and the Refund Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the Service. If a part is unenforceable, the rest stays in force; if we do not enforce a term, we may still enforce it later. You may not transfer your account; we may transfer this agreement to a successor that takes over the Service, and will tell you if we do. Notices to you go to your account email; notices to us go to the addresses below.
